September AIRIE Fellow Lee Pivnik spent his residency immersed in the Everglades, capturing images of the flora and fauna that thrive in this unique landscape.

Opening October 4 at The Local New York, “WE THE MUSIC” brings together new work by Unimuke Agada and Khari Turner, 2023 AIRIE Fellow. 

Curated by JAX, the exhibition explores the body through both abstract and figurative work by Unimuke
AIRIE is proud to present “Gatherings,” a solo exhibition by Miami-born artist Charles Humes Jr.

Opening Saturday, October 4, 2025, with a reception from 12–3 PM at the AIRIE Nest Gallery, the exhibition is shaped by Humes’s
“Drawn Breath, Exhaled Frequencies” transforms early 20th-century sound mirrors once engineered to register the threat of incoming warplanes into vessels for spoken voice.

Conceived by artist Michael Webster in collaboration with writers
Join 2013 AIRIE Fellow Gustavo Matamoros for the unveiling of Quail Roost Sanctuary, a 320-foot permanent sound installation at Quail Roost Station in Cutler Bay.

Spanning the station’s breezeway, the work transforms a pedestrian passage into
“Mark Dion and Alexis Rockman: Journey to Nature’s Underworld” brings together the work of two artists who for more than 30 years have explored their relationship to ecology and nature.
