Ackeem Salmon is a Jamaican-born, Detroit-based multimedia artist whose practice spans photography, traditional painting and drawing, performance, and sound. He holds a BFA with honors in Photography and Fine Art from the College for Creative Studies. Working at the intersection of visual and sonic expression, Ackeem is also a harpist and composer. His interdisciplinary approach blends fine art, film, music, performance, and critical theory—drawing connections between the ephemerality of theatre and the permanence of visual design.

Rooted in postcolonial thought and personal narrative, Ackeem’s work often explores themes of identity, memory, and social progress. His pieces examine how cultural histories shape present-day experiences and reveal the ways human beings connect through empathy, vulnerability, and shared inheritance.
