Sheherazade Thénard is an artist, curator, and educator based in Miami. Their work traces the layered histories of their family’s migration from Martinique to the U.S., weaving together Afro-Caribbean symbolism, Black feminist media, and the lived experience of a Black queer artist in the American South. With vibrant yet brooding palettes, Sheherazade transforms autobiographical memory into reimagined geographies—textured, luminous spaces that speak to belonging, protection, and ancestral presence.

They hold a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida (2022) and have exhibited widely, including the two-person show Rootwork with Chili Arts Project in London (2023). Their work has appeared in the traveling group exhibition Easy Like a Sunday Morning, curated by Mashonda Tifrere(2024), and most recently in has been selected into Unveiling Power: Examining Influence in Greenspace’s annual open call (2025). Sheherazade’s practice is rooted in care, community-building, and the preservation of diasporic memory.
